We do not work directly with any insurance provider, but some medical tests and medications can be run through your insurance if you prefer.
A comprehensive approach to your health requires a team of providers such as a regular primary care provider and for women a GYN in addition to your hormone care with Tori Perrodin, FNP. We cannot be your primary care provider because physical exams, urgent conditions, screenings covered by insurance cannot be conducted while we are focusing on our extensive hormone specialty. While functional medicine & hormone therapy offers holistic insights, it's not a replacement for conventional medicine when indicated for acute, urgent or serious medical conditions.
Healthy nutrition centered around whole, nutrient-dense foods
Stress management and coping skills are priority
Movement and weight training exercises are encouraged
Prioritizing quality sleep
Having regular sunlight and time spent in nature
Reducing exposure to chemicals that are harmful to your hormone health
Bio-identical hormones are natural, plant-derived chemical compounds that are identical to hormones your body naturally produces. This differs drastically from synthetic, chemically created hormones that have similar enough structures but do not work with your body in the way that your natural hormones would. On the contrary, synthetic hormones have a “trick” affect on receptors that can cause negative symptoms, side effects, and complications.
Yes, always try to get your labs completed at least 7-10 days before your visit. Having all lab results back in time for your visit is crucial to ensure you have a thorough assessment and individualized treatment plan.
We advise using one of our integrated lab systems: CPL, LabCorp, or Quest Diagnostics. Hospital based labs typically are more costly and sometimes do not complete the correct hormone specific labs. If you work at a center in the medical field with a lab and need to use them, please ensure you get a copy to the clinic by uploading results if not faxed timely into your chart in your patient portal.

We also offer a comforting lab draw experience in our clinic. This can be completed and filed under your insurance for only a small co-pay cash price for the lab draw experience or you may also complete it as a cash pay at discounted lab prices.
Proper sauna use is important; just like we warm up and cool down our bodies when we exercise, there are some basic steps to follow to ensure you gain maximum benefits of using a sauna.
  • Before Sauna Use:
    • Drink a minimum of 8 oz. of water to prepare your body for an increase in core body temperature.
    • Lay down towels on the bench to absorb sweat. It’s also nice to have an extra around to wipe your face during sessions.
  • During Sauna Use:
    • Watch your time: Make sure to adjust your session length in accordance to your body’s needs. If you are just beginning with regular sauna use, it is important to start slow and get your body accustomed to infrared therapy. We recommend beginning with 10-15 minute sessions at 100°F every other day. Gradually increase toward 40 minute daily sessions in the optimal temperature range. Always listen to your body and adjust based on what it’s telling you.
    • Stick with it for long-term benefits: Just as with exercise or eating healthy, sauna use takes time and consistency to see results. You may not even sweat the first few times you use your sauna, but know that sweating (and the detox that comes with it) will increase over time, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and healthy. We recommend our Pure Sweat amplifying cream, which increases sweating and circulation to boost results.
  • After Sauna Use:
    • Rehydrate with at least 24 oz. of water or electrolyte drink.
    • Dry off and cool down naturally, or with a refreshing shower.

Most people enjoy a 30-45 minute session, 3-4 times a week, but it is safe to use every day and at whatever heat suits you best. Research shows that regular use over time brings best results.
